WHY ARE YOU CALLED EMPOWERMENT?

EMPOWERMENT: "The process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one's life and claiming one's rights."

Our name reflects the studio's commitment to helping individuals discover their full potential and feel empowered in all aspects of their lives. Through our class offerings in a supportive and inclusive environment, the studio empowers individuals and encourages self-confidence, self-expression, and resilience. 

WHO CAN ATTEND CLASSES?

Classes are open to individuals of all identities, body sizes, and abilities. The studio values inclusivity and welcomes everyone, regardless of their background or experience level. The staff at Empowerment are able to   accommodate and modify skills to fit the needs of each individual. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced dancer, the studio

aims to provide a supportive  and non-judgmental environment

where everyone can feel comfortable and empowered.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO POLE DANCING CLASS?

Prepare for class by wearing comfortable workout clothing like tank tops and shorts. Feel free to dress in a way that suits your style-whether it's sexy, sporty, or anything in between. Shoes and socks are not needed, but heels can be worn in certain classes like floorwork sessions. For pole classes, consult your instructor before bringing heels as safety is our top priority. It is essential to establish a strong skill foundation before incorporating heels into your practice. Our studio store carries essential pole           dancing items, including grips, outfits, bags, water                  bottles, snacks, and drinks - everything you need to                 begin your pole dancing journey!

Remember to bring a water bottle and avoid wearing lotion on the day of class!

DO I NEED TO BE IN SHAPE 
TO START POLE DANCING? 

Not at all! Our instructors are ready to meet you                                          
wherever you are on your fitness journey, even if                                         
   you are just starting out. We welcome all bodies                                      
and abilities. If you have particular concerns, please                                
communicate them to our staff when you register so                           
we can create a personalized plan for you. Pole fitness provides  
a rigorous full body-workout, but with perseverance and   
commitment, anyone can progress and master   
even the most challenging moves.    

I HAVE TAKEN POLE DANCING CLASS ELSEWHERE. WHAT LEVEL DO I START IN?

We recommend starting in Pole 1. Our instructors need

to see your proficiencies in the skills needed to move up

in our specific program. Other studios may have different criteria for advancing, so starting in Pole 1 ensures a smooth transition. If you have prior experience, you

  may progress quickly! Feel free to ask about a more                 personalized assessment of your abilities.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO ADVANCE LEVELS?

The time it takes to advance levels varies for each individual.    

Each class has specific strength and skill milestones that students   

must achieve before moving up to the next level. It is important      

for students to listen to their bodies, avoid injury, and take their        

time when learning new pole skills. The progression time is          

personalized to ensure that students can safely and            

effectively advance in their pole journey.
